Jillian Michaels Detox water challange my results

Jillian Michaels detox water

I did the 7 day Jillian Michaels Detox water challenge.  Taking this detox claims you can lose 5-8 pounds.
 Here is what you need,
-2 liters of water
-7 bags of dandelion tea
-100% cranberry juice
-fresh lemons or lemon juice
Directions: steep 1 bag of dandelion tea in 2 liter of boiling water for at least 15 minutes.  Add 1 tablespoon of cranberry juice to your tea and 2 tablespoons of lemon juice.  Drink the whole thing every day for 7 days.  Drink hot or cold depending on your preference.
I followed this recipe for the first 4 days but I really did not like the taste, I read that some people were making this recipe with only 16 oz. of water and still getting the same results so that is what I did for the last 3 days.  My weight fluctuated during this actually going up after the first day.  In the end I did lose a total of 2 pounds, so not really close to the 5-8 pounds that it claims.  I also ate a very strict low carb diet and worked out while doing this so the weight loss probably did not happen due to this recipe.  I am at a healthy weight for my height and already drink a lot of water so that could be why I only lost 2 pounds.  All and all 2 pounds in one week is pretty good and if you have trouble drinking enough water throughout the day, taking this challenge would probably be really helpful.  As for me I will stick with green tea and lemon water, I'm not a big fan of the flavor of the dandelion tea.  Has anyone else done this, what were your results?

Day 6 of the Jillian Michaels detox water

Day 6 of the Jillian Michaels detox water

I completed Day 6 and I'm into day 7 the last day of the detox.  My weight is the same as yesterday mornings weigh-in, I'm down 1.5 pounds.  Really I would say that's pretty good for 6 days, along with this detox I have been working out and eating a low carb diet.  Just hoping to lose that other .5 of a pound today, my goal was to lose 2 pounds on the detox.

I Tried a Detox Bath

So last night I decided to try a detox bath. There are many benefits to a detox bath,
-Flushes toxins
-Can reduce stress
-Improve sleep
-Balance your PH
-Helps sore muscles
-Helps with weight loss

Directions for the one I tried, add a large handful of Epsom salt, 1/2 a cup baking soda, and 5 drops lavender oil to a bath filling with the hottest water you can stand.  Soak for 20 minutes.
My experience started out good it was very relaxing and felt nice, I set the timer on my phone for 20 minutes.  I close my eyes and sink into the soothing bath, enjoying the quiet.  I open my eyes, I have to look at my phone how long have I been in here I'm roasting like a pig...only 3 minutes have gone by, I tell myself I can do this.  I put my phone down and ease into the bath once more trying to enjoy it.  Then come the sweats, I'm sweating profusely, I try to tell myself this is good, I'm sweating out the toxins losing some water weight, this will all be worth it.. its hotter than blazes in here.  To take my mind off how agonizing this is I decide to scroll through pinterest on my phone.  Just praying for it to be over.  I look at the time once more only 10 minutes left, I can see the finish line, I feel as if I'm running a marathon at this point, I'm sweaty I can feel my heart beating fast, but I push through.  Just when I think I can't tolerate any more of this self induced torture the timer has only 5 minutes
left.  I'm drenched in sweat in the bath, so much for relaxing, I don't even sweat this much when I go running.  Somehow I make it through 1 minute on the timer and I watch every second tick by, the suffering is almost to an end.  I realize know that I should have rinsed with cool water after but I missed this step, I leap from the tub and towel dry.  I become aware of just how fast my heart is racing, and the heat is just radiating from my body, it feels like a really bad sun burn.  The water was not scalding and I didn't really burn myself it just felt as if I did, normally I would moisturize at this point but the directions say not to.  I look in the mirror and my face is glowing I thought this is cool who doesn't want glowing skin and I smell nice from the lavender, the bad part of the experience is already fading away.  I put my fitbit on and my heartrate was up for a good 30 minutes in the fat burning zone, who would have thought you could burn extra calories just from sitting in a bath.  I did feel warm for about an hour after, probably why your supposed to rinse off with cool water.  I did get an awesome nights sleep last night, I feel very rested.  My skin is still glowing this morning, and I'm down 1.5 pounds.  Overall it was definitely worth it and I can't wait to try another detox bath.

Day 5 of the Jillian Michaels Detox Water

Jillian Michaels Detox Water Day 5

I couldn't bring myself to drink 2 liters of this concoction again.  So I made the whole drink in a 16 oz. bottle, still with all the same ingredients, so same recipe just 16 oz. of water rather than 2 liters. It was much easier for me to drink it this way, and I'm going to be doing this again today.  I did drink tons of water throughout the day after finishing this up, I still got in over 2 liters of water.  Weigh in today on day 6 I am down 1.5 pounds :)

Day 4 of the Jillain Michaels detox water

My 4th day doing the detox water went alright, I'm glad its almost over I would rather just drink lemon water.  I think what I don't like about the taste is the tea itself, the dandelion tea taste bad to me.  Weigh-in today shows that I gained that 1/2 a pound back so I'm right at my usual weight, with going into my 5th day I don't even see myself coming close to losing the 5-8 pounds this drink claims you can lose.  Feeling defeated... but will continue and hope for the best.

Day 2 of the Jillian Michaels Detox water

Yesterday I started the 7 day Jillian Michaels detox.  Sadly to report I'm up by 2 pounds this morning.  Ahh... I know its not the drink but its so frustrating.  I ate perfectly yesterday.  I had a glass of lemon water when I woke up, than a cup of coffee with just a splash of unsweetened vanilla
almond milk.  I drank the detox water which kept me full until dinner.  I had a steak salad for dinner and a pickle.  I also got in a 30 minute workout and reached my 10,000 step goal grrr.  Weight loss is hard, what an up and down roller coaster ride.  But I will continue to drink the detox water and hope for a better read on the scale tomorrow.  One thing to note is this drink will cause frequent trips to the bathroom :).

Detox Water-claims you will lose 5-8 pounds in 7 days

I'm sure you have seen the recipe for the Jillian Michaels Detox water all over Pinterest.  I decided to give it a go what do I have to lose... 5-8 pounds hopefully.
The detox is really very simple, with only a few ingredients and 7 days you can flush away excess water weight with this recipe, so it claims.
What you will need.
-Roasted Dandelion spice Detox tea bags
-100% Cranberry juice
-Lemons or lemon Juice

Directions:  Steep 1 dandelion tea bag in 2 liters of boiling water for about 15 minutes. In a pitcher combine 1 tablespoon of cranberry juice and 2 tablespoons of lemon juice, stir in the tea.  Drink this throughout  the day in place of your regular water.  This is not a meal replacement, but for it to be most effective it is best to eat a healthy diet.

Prepare the detox water and drink it for 7 days to lose 5-8 pounds.

Why this works dandelion tea is supposedly formulated to support the body's natural cleansing process and support liver health.  Lemon water, aids in digestion and detoxification, helps shed pounds, and can boost energy and mood.  The cranberry juice contains antioxidants, and can aid in weight loss and digestion.

I'm choosing to drink mine over ice, but you can drink it hot.  I personally don't like the taste very much.  Here goes day 1, I can't wait to see what my results will be.  Have you tried this?  What were your results?  Will be following up with results throughout the next 7 days.
